Answers to your questions about Electrolysis
Is Electrolysis permanent hair removal?
Yes, electrolysis safely and permanently removes all types of hair from all skin tones. Electrolysis permanently destroys the growth cells of the hair follicle, preventing treated hairs from growing back. It typically takes a series of treatments to get all the hair, since hair grows in stages.
How long does Electrolysis take?
With the Desloges Method, when a normal treatment area is treated every 6 to 8 weeks, the hair should be eliminated within one year. Some hairs will be permanently gone each treatment, never to return. Some will come back finer and need a follow up treatment(s).
Is Electrolysis painful?
There is a myth that electrolysis is painful. But for most people, today’s methods don’t cause a lot of pain, just a light pinching feeling. It can hurt a bit. If you find it too uncomfortable, we recommend using a topical anesthetic and Ibuprofen. At Jade, we also offer local anesthetic freezing, similar to your dentist, if interested please ask for more details.
What are the side effects?
The most common side effects for face work, if any, after an electrolysis session are tenderness, redness and some swelling. Scabs can also be a side effect for body treatments on areas like underarms and bikini-line. These side effects are all normal and temporary. If done improperly, electrolysis can cause infection and permanent scarring. Any questions or concerns you may have, can be addressed and assessed during your free consultation.

Answers to your questions about Skin Revision
Am I a candidate for Skin Revision?
All skin types can be treated. Moles must be assessed by your physician to ensure they’re safe for removal. We recommend a consultation with a Jade practitioner before booking an appointment.
How many treatments are needed?
Most lesions only require one treatment to completely remove it. You may have several areas on your body that require electrocautery treatments or multiple lesions to treat.
What does the treatment feel like?
There will be some discomfort during the procedure, however numbing agents are used prior to beginning to help ease the level of pain you’ll experience. The procedure for each lesion takes very little time before it’s done, and that unwanted spot is gone before you know it! We recommend taking Tylenol twenty minutes before the removal to keep as calm and non-reactive as possible.
Is there downtime or side effects?
For smaller lesions, the initial healing time for the scab to naturally come off on its own should take only a 2-3 days post procedure, since the scabs are very shallow on the surface of the skin and are already formed/closed off the moment you are treated. Larger ones can take anywhere from 2-10 days, depending on the size and type of lesion to be removed. One of the biggest benefits to electrocautery procedures is that the skin is immediately closed off when you are treated and a scab forms, leaving no open or exposed areas which keeps the risk of infection minimal and speeds up healing time. After the scab initially falls off, there will be a red mark remaining that will gradually fade away anywhere from 2-8 weeks post-treatment as your skin regenerates, depending on your skin type. Typically, the more pigmented your skin is, the longer it will take for the red markings to fade out completely. Any questions or concerns you may have, can be addressed and assessed during your free consultation.

“Five years ago I used Jade Electrolysis for several different areas of my body. The technician was professional, and the results still stand up today. The hair was eliminated and there has been no new growth. I've recently returned to tackle a new area, and am pleased to say the the experience is just as positive as it was back then.”
